My 365: Abandoned, Part 2

Here are a few more pictures of Girard Elementary.

If anybody knows anything about the history of this place, please let me know!  I love abandoned buildings (I’m sure I’d have a blast in Detroit.  LOL).

The view from inside the front door:

I sure do wish I’d had my zoom lens and a good pair of glass-proof boots.  You have my word that on our next trip to Georgia (maybe next year), I will visit this place again … and this time, I will be more prepared.  🙂

  1. I would love to know if you ever found out any information about this place! My husband & I live in the area and stopped by there today and walked through it. We have a large family (9 kids!) and were thinking of the possibilities in converting it to a home. Please email me at hollinheads(at)gmail(dot)com , I would love to hear more about your experience there. Also if you are in this area I would love to get pictures done of our family!

    • No, I never did find out! That sure is a beautiful area out there … we don’t live there, though. We were visiting some family in GA (we are from the St. Louis, MO area). 🙂
