I’ve never used HDR before …it always seemed like more of a “landscape photography” thing. And I’ve never been particularly into landscape photography (if you put people into a scene, I’ll like it a lot better!).
But it’s always good to learn new things, so here we go! 🙂
For those unfamiliar with the term, “HDR” is short for “High Dynamic Range.” In other words, cameras can’t capture all of the details our eyes can (we can see details in the bright sky and the dark shadows simultaneously, but cameras generally can’t). So you can take several pictures, each metered a bit differently, and merge them together in a program like Photomatix to get the best of all of the pictures automatically.
It’s pretty cool. I might have to do this again sometime!
